200% Wolf 2024 WEB.HC JFF
When Freddy Lupin’s wayward wish turns him into a werewolf and leaves a mischievous moon spirit on Earth, Freddy must restore cosmic order before the Earth and Moon collide.. The German theatrical version was cut by approx. 2.5 minutes to ensure a "Not for the faint of heart" rating. The uncut version is rated "Not for the faint of heart". Next up is 100% Wolf (2020). The Great Kennel by Ash Gibson Greig, Andrew Craig. Pink "Freddy" is more akin to a poodle than a wolf, but he’s energetic when it comes to helping his pack of superhero lupins who are trying to help those in need! Fed up with being constantly humiliated, he looks up at the sky and makes a wish. Next thing you know, there’s the moon spirit "Moopoo" before him and he’s no longer a wimp. The thing is, his new blue friend needs the life force to survive, so they have to find a way to get him back home to his own kind on the moon, or disaster will befall us all! There’s only one way to do that, and that’s to find "Max" – an outcast wolf living deep in the forest who possesses the necessary magical spell. They set out on a quest, but does the grumpy "Max" even want to help them, or does he have his own devious plan to get revenge on those who cast him out? This is a pretty fun family adventure, but it struggles to find its audience. The very young probably won’t appreciate the sense of (teatime) menace, especially towards the end – and the slightly older ones will probably be put off at first by the rather childish characterization of "Freddy". It’s also probably twenty minutes too long, but as a simple lighthearted drama it does what it says on the tin, tapping into the aspirations we all have when we’re young and want to fit in, lead and be appreciated. It’s a forgettable thing, but it’s decently animated and watchable enough.
